Accessibility statement

George Leith is committed to making georgeleith.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. The web should work for all visitors, regardless of ability, technology, or context.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. georgeleith.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform, and we are actively working to close those gaps.

Measures we take

  • Use semantic HTML with a logical heading structure where the theme and page builder allow it
  • Provide alternative text for meaningful images, and remediate gaps as we update the media library
  • Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds on new work
  • Support keyboard navigation
  • Write descriptive link text instead of generic phrases like “click here”
  • Review new content for accessibility before publishing

Compatibility

This website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS. The site is responsive across desktop and mobile devices.

Known limitations

  • Some older images in the media library still lack complete alternative text.
  • Third-party content — embedded videos, podcast players, and forms — may not fully meet accessibility standards. We do not control those platforms, but we favor providers with accessibility support.
  • Parts of the site are built with a visual page builder; heading levels and landmarks can be imperfect on those templates.

We remediate these issues as we update older content.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or need content in an alternative format, please use the contact form. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.

Assessment and updates

We assess this site through self-evaluation, combining automated checks with manual review. This statement was prepared on 20 August 2026. We review and update it as the site evolves.
